Meeting-planner FAQs for Johnston
Common questions for booking corporate events in Johnston, Iowa.
What's the typical capacity range for conference centers in Johnston?
None of the 3 conference centers on this page publishes a room capacity yet, so we don't print a range for Johnston rather than guess one. Capacity also depends on layout — theater seating fits more than banquet rounds, and a room's largest number is its tightest one. Specify your guest count and event format in your quote and we'll surface the right matches.
Are catering and AV included in conference centers quotes?
It varies. Some Johnston conference centers bundle in-house catering, AV, and event staff into the rental. Others operate venue-only and let you bring preferred vendors. Each listing notes its model when claimed; for un-claimed listings, ask in your quote and venues will detail what's included.
What do conference centers in Johnston cost?
We don't print one. Not one of the 3 conference centers on this page publishes a rate to us, so any figure here would be invented. Venue pricing moves with the date, the day of the week, the headcount, and whether the room carries a food-and-beverage minimum, so the only real number is the one the venue quotes you. Send your date and guest count and up to 3 Johnston venues reply with theirs.
Can I get parking, AV, accessibility, and other logistics info upfront?
Yes — these are standard items in any Johnston venue quote. When you submit a quote request, mention any specific needs (wheelchair access, AV requirements, parking for X guests, valet, etc.) and venues will address each in their response.
What's the cancellation policy for conference centers in Johnston?
Each venue sets its own, and we hold no contract terms for any of the conference centers on this page, so there is no deposit or refund figure for us to quote. Ask the venue in writing for the deposit amount, the payment schedule, and what is refundable at each point before your date, and get all three before you sign.
Do Johnston conference centers accommodate hybrid (in-person + virtual) events?
Most modern Johnston conference centers support hybrid setups with built-in livestreaming, dedicated bandwidth, and AV teams. If hybrid is essential to your event, mention it in your quote — venues will confirm AV capacity, bandwidth, and any related tech fees.

Guide A nursing attendee, a three-day agenda and no refrigerator
A $250-a-day lactation room at a Tampa hotel had a folding chair and a minibar fridge of bottled water, and nowhere a pumping attendee could safely store milk.
Guide I carry a CO2 meter to site visits and it explains the 2pm slump
An $80 handheld CO2 monitor showed the 2pm slump is a ventilation problem, not a lunch problem, with readings hitting 1,640 ppm in a packed training room.
Guide The house AV crew shot our keynote, so who owns the file
A $6,850 keynote shoot produced only an archival web export, because the venue AV contract never granted usable rights.

I sold hotel group space for seven years before I started buying it. This is the whole conference budget, built in the order a planner actually builds it, with the calls to make, the numbers I expect to see, what is negotiable, and what to do when 400 people arrive and something is wrong.
